David E. Smith

David E. Smith, age 70 of Hamilton, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. David was born in Middletown, Ohio on February 27, 1955 to the late Joe Smith and Margaret (Scragg) Howard. David grew up in Hamilton and graduated from Garfield High School, class of 1972. David had a passion for anything on wheels, two or four. He enjoyed drag racing, riding his Harley Davidson, and restoring vintage muscle cars – he could turn a wrench and fix just about anything. If he wasn’t working in the shop, he was probably riding his motorcycle with his brothers or fishing on Brookeville Lake on his bass boat. David also enjoyed running a pool table and played in a few leagues over the years. David loved his grandchildren and enjoyed the time he was able to spend with them.

David is survived by his children, Suzie (Ben) Petit & Matthew Smith and their mother, Denise Smith; his grandkids, Tylor Petit, Autumn Petit, Silas Petit, and Austin Smith; his siblings, Joe Smith, Mike Howard, Barb Kunkel and Jimmy Howard; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Loretta Fields, Judy Hensley, and Francis Miceli.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 4:00 PM until the time of his Funeral Service at 6:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton OH 45013 with his cousin, Pastor Sonny Hurd officiating.
