David R. Jacobs

David R. Jacobs passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. He was born in Hamilton on March 13, 1932 to Clarence and Rose (Huber) Jacobs. David was a 1950 graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School and attended Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati. His career included Industrial Transportation at the Mosler Safe Company and Warehousing and Distributing, Inc., and he retired from the Butler County Clerk of Courts. David was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Butler Council #968, and the Hamilton Lodge #93 B.P.O. Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy; two sons, William and Damion (Shannon); one sister, Joanne Gilmore; a grandson, Jeremy; a sister-in-law, Ruth Jacobs; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Alice; his twin brother, Daniel; and brother-in-law, Jay Gilmore.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 382 Liberty Avenue, on Friday, April 4, 2014, at 10:30am. Family and friends will be received one hour before the service. Final resting place will be St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hamilton, 1010 Eaton Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45013 or to the National MS Society.
