David W. Setser

David W. Setser, age 54 of Fairfield Township passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Monday, December 13, 2010. He was born in Hamilton on July 24, 1956 the son of Roy V. and Thelma (Abrams) Setser. David was a 1974 graduate of Fairfield High School. He was employed as an electrical technician at General Motors, and was a member of the IBEW Local #648. David was well known for his wit and humor, and was willing to help others and always put them before himself. David was one of Ohio State’s most ardent fans and he was a classic car enthusiast, especially Corvettes. In addition to being an accomplished tennis player, David was an avid golfer. He married Carrie Wheeler on August 29, 1980 in Hamilton, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie Setser; his parents, Roy V. and Thelma Setser; a brother, Larry (Ruby) Setser; his mother-in-law, Pat Wheeler; a brother-in-law, Andrew Wheeler; a sister-in-law, Liesl (Tim Hooper) Wheeler; two nieces, Tara (Mark) Schiff and Cari (Gary) Gerber; a nephew, Luke Hooper; three great-nieces; a great-nephew; and numerous other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45013 on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. James A. Setser and Rev. Rick Witt officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with short a IBEW ceremony at 6 PM.
