Deborah Podszuweit

Deborah K. Podszuweit, age 63 of Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Debbie was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 25, 1961 to Frank Carew and Hannah (Grimes) Maupin. She was strong in her faith and was a dedicated member of Pater Avenue Pentecostal Church. Debbie was someone you could talk to about anything and everything. She was a mommy’s girl who loved to mess with her brothers because she knew she could get away with it. Debbie provided her all to her kids, whether that be her love or the last penny she had. She was a great friend to everyone who knew her, and Debbie would share her faith with anyone lost in the world.

Debbie is survived by her daughter, Areena (Logan Holmes) Podszuweit; grandchildren, Hope, Kristina, Abigail, and Kaylyn; brothers, Timmy (Vicky) Carew, Matt Carew, and Jeff (Kathy) Carew; nieces, Christina (Joseph) Charles, Tiffany Carew, Kayla Carew, and her favorite niece Rebecca (Tony) Kolodzik :); nephews, Anthony (Heather) Carew, Jonathan (Ashley) Peters, Donald (Christine) Saylor, and Corey and Josh May; bonus father, Wayne Maupin; sister-in-law, Michelle Carew; granddoggy, Lola; and numerous other relatives and friends. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Carew and Hannah Maupin; son, Josh Carew; brothers, Bruce Carew and Dean Carew; sister, Rhonda Carew; nephew, Bradley May; grandparents, Cecil and Mable Grimes; and many uncles.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, OH 45011. The funeral service will be held the following day at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 12:00 PM with Pastor Denny Matheny officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.
