Delbert D. Johnson Sr.

Delbert D. Johnson Sr., age 93 of Hamilton, passed away at Westover Retirement Community on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. He was born in Kenmore, Ohio on April 19, 1920 to Howard and Ruth (Miner) Johnson. On December 18, 1941 in Chillicothe, Ohio he married Frances Louise Huffman, and they were married for 72 years.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Louise Johnson; daughters, Sheila (Dan) Spahni and Sandra J. Johnson; daughter-in-law, Mary Johnson; sisters, Sherrall Grayble and Frances Nance; 6 grandchildren, Dennis Johnson, Tammy (Shawn) Simonson, Angela DeWitt, Brian (Jenny) Spahni, Patti (John) Winterod, and Lyle (Kathy) Manring; and 6 great-grandchildren, Rachel and Nicholas DeWitt, John Winterod, and James, Justin, and Michaela Hickey. He was preceded in death by his son, Delbert D. Johnson Jr.; brothers, Wilbur Johnson and Howard H. Johnson Jr.; two sisters, Geraldine Stephens and Roberta Beaston; and his parents.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 12:00 PM with Pastor Cecil Day officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
