Delois Halcomb

Delois Halcomb, age 91 of Hamilton, passed away at home on Friday, March 4, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born in Linefork, KY on May 7, 1924 to Dennis and Flora (Miller) Cornett. Delois was employed at Champion Paper, on the sorting line for 36 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of West Chester Old Regular Baptist Church for 52 years, where she served as a deaconess. On April 20, 1946, Delois married the love of her life, Lawrence Halcomb, who preceded her in death on July 23, 1991.

She is survived by her daughter, Debarah A. (James R.) Horton of Hamilton, OH, her siblings, Evadean Elkins, Maelean Pack, James Cornett all of Columbus, IN, and many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother, Dennis Cornett Jr. The family of Delois would like to thank Dr. Harry Davin and the staff of Hospice of Cincinnati for their care and support.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 1PM with Pastor Boyd Carmack & James R. Horton officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 11AM-1PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Hamilton.
