Delsie Lakes

Delsie Lakes, age 85 of Hamilton passed away at Mercy Hospital Fairfield on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 8:22 PM. She was born in Jackson County, Kentucky on April 3, 1924 the daughter of Merle and Rachel (Harrison) Sparks. Delsie was a member of Faith Pentecostal Church of Hamilton. On December 18, 1943 in McKee, Kentucky she married Denver Lakes.

She is survived by her husband, Denver Lakes of Hamilton; two sons, Cecil Lakes and Larry (Edna) Lakes, both of Hamilton; a grandson, James A. Lakes of San Diego, California; a brother, Daniel Sparks of Liberty, Indiana; two sisters, Alma Cook of Waynesville, Ohio and Ora Boggs of Kentucky; as well as a number of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Rick Witt of Faith Pentecostal Church of Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
