Derek Elias Cope

Derek Elias Cope, age 33 of Hamilton, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. Derek was born in Hamilton, Ohio on April 22, 1986 to Donald and Marcia Cope. Derek was a member of the Local 648 Union Electricians. He enjoyed spending time with his son and being in the outdoors.

Derek is survived by his son, Elias Cope; his mother, Marcia (Jerry Boggess) Cope; his brothers, Donald Cope II, Mark Hall and Robert McGuire; his loving girlfriend, Crystal Britton; his favorite aunt Debbie Moore; his niece, Kyra Hall; his dear cousin, Alexis Cope; his cousins, Brian Huff, Dylan and Josh Moore, Kelly Rucker and Amy Cope; his uncles, Scott (Becky), Kip and Jamey McDaniel; his cousins, Tasha, Reggie, Sarah, Dusty, Shannon; extended family, Meghan (Jason) Spivey and Brigitte (Mark) Mayer; and many other loving family members and friends. Derek was preceded in death by his father, Donald Cope; his aunts, Shawnie Cook and Cathie Andrews; and his grandparents.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to a GoFundMe in his son's name, Elias Cope.
