Dewayne O. Garrod

DeWayne O. Garrod, age 86 of Hamilton, passed away at his residence on Monday, October 22, 2018. DeWayne was born in Hamilton, Ohio on March 15, 1932 to Orville Garrod and Zelma (Miller) Garrod-Einsfeld. He worked as a drum operator at Champion Paper Company for 20 years, and also in Maintenance at Fairfield City Schools. On August 23rd, 1963 in Hamilton, he married Ruth Ann McKinney. He was a lifetime member and past president of the Monkey Mutual Aide Society. DeWayne enjoyed gardening, planting lots of trees, camping, being outside, and especially spending time with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

DeWayne is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Garrod; one daughter, Stephanie (Edward) Wyatt; two granddaughters, Christina (Jordan) Schwegmann and Rebecca Moss; five great grandchildren, Adalynn Schwegmann, Fender Schwegmann, Wyatt Moss, Owen Schwegmann, and Delta Moss; and several neices and nephews, other family and friends. DeWayne was preceded in death by his parents, Orville Garrod and Zelma Einsfeld; five brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral service will be held at Eaton Road Church of God, 2000 Eaton Road, Hamilton, OH 45013 on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Paul McCulley of Eaton Road Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Eaton Road Church of God. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Clyde and Brian. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to Animal Adoption Foundation.
