Dewey E. Broughton, age 58 of Hamilton passed away at Mercy Hospital Fairfield on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 6:15 PM. He was born in Hamilton on November 22, 1952 the son of Dewey Sr. and Ola (Cox) Broughton. Dewey was employed as a groover at Pipe Products.
He is survived by his companion of 17 years, Sandy Thompson of Hamilton; three stepchildren, John (Judy) Hampton, Donny (Krista) Hampton, and Christopher (Shenna) Thompson, all of Hamilton; a brother, James Broughton of Hamilton; and he was a special papaw to Devin, Alexis, and Bubba, and a special grandson, Brandon Hampton. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Wendell Coning of Hamilton Dream Center officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
