Dolores Mae Logsdon Blackford

BLACKFORD, Dolores Mae Logsdon 83, of Liberty Township of Hamilton, Ohio, died Friday, August 1, 2008 at Memorial Hospital of Union County in Marysville, Ohio. A homemaker, she was a former kindergarten teacher with Liberty Elementary School. Besides her family, her primary focus was her relationship with Jesus Christ and sharing the Gospel. She was a member of Bethany Methodist Church and formerly attended Seventh and Chestnut Church of God in Hamilton. She was a founding member of Liberty Historical Society, where she participated with the renovation of Hughes School. She was also a member of the Princeton Road Current Events Club. She was a devoted supporter of the Teen Challenge Home for Boys, both in Cincinnati and Tucson, AZ. An avid Reds fan, she also enjoyed OSU football and basketball. She was born June 25, 1925 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Elbert B. and Maudie VanWinkle Logsdon and was also predeceased by her husband, Robert A. Blackford; a sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Edward Blankenship; and a brother, Elbert "Pete" Logsdon. She is survived by two sons, Robert L. Blackford of Michigan and Paul (Carol) Isaacs of Marysville; two grandsons, Jason (Julie) Isaacs of Marysville and Darek (Tabitha) Isaacs of Alabama; two great-grandsons, Jeremiah and Joseph Isaacs of Marysville; two sisters, Vivian (Carl) Gabbard of Sharonville and Donna (Carthel) Zimmerman of Hamilton; a brother, Wilburn "Bud" (Mary) Logsdon of Middletown; a sister-in-law, Maxine Logsdon of Oxford; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Brown- Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., in Hamilton where burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in Liberty Township. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Teen Challenge Home in Cincinnati. Underwood Funeral Home is assisting the family locally.
