Don J. Boehm

Don J. Boehm, age 89 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 9:55 PM. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 25, 1923 the son of Paul Peter and Sybilla (Brehl) Boehm. Don earned his Master’s Degree at Ohio State University and was employed as an art teacher and assistant principal for Hamilton City Schools for over 30 years, retiring in 1982. Don was also a veteran of the United States Army and Air Force during WWII; served in the Battle of the Bulge, and was awarded a Purple Heart. Don was an avid golfer, loved to fish, and enjoyed camping with his family. He was a member of the Isaac Walton League and Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

He is survived by three children, Betsy Coss of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Margie M. Brune of Hamilton, and Gary Boehm of Hamilton; two sisters, Marjorie Egger and Teresa Rose Coyle; six grandchildren, Troy, Jay (Helen), Todd, Eric, Miranda May, and Stephanie; and two great-grandchildren, Jessica and Ebin, as well as one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Alice (Evans) Boehm; a brother, Paul Peter Boehm; and two brothers-in-law, Dick Coyle and George Egger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 2550 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Jim Widig, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
