Donald Edward "Gil" Gilbert, age 69 of Loveland, passed away at VA Hospital on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11:18AM. He was born in Piqua on November 29, 1945 to Kelman Gilbert and Dorothy (Charles) Benson. Gil was employed at Schwan’s for 25 years. He was an Army Vietnam War Veteran, an avid UK Basketball fan, and a local bingo favorite.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Beverley (Olds) Gilbert; his children, Patrick (Lisa) Gilbert and Deena (Nishious) Golden; his grandchildren, TJ, Aeriston, Jayon, Cooper, Brooklyn, and Sydney. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11 AM with Pastor Darrell Horsley officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
