Donald Lee Johnson, age 65 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 7:05 AM. He was born in Hamilton on April 30, 1945 the son of Roy and Josephine (Williams) Johnson. Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Era and was employed as a conductor for CSX Transportation. He was s member of Four Square Pentecostal Church and the UTU Railroad Union. On August 18, 1979 in Hamilton he married Brenda Murphy.
He is survived by four sons, Jamie (Ruth) Bustle of Camden, Jeffrey Burns of Atlanta, Georgia, Tracie Burns of Dayton, and Earl (Ruth) Burns of Indian Springs; two daughters, Karen (Bubba) Gravitt and Sharon (TJ) Hatton, both of Haleyville, Alabama; eleven grandchildren, Angie (Chuck), Tracie II, Travis, Zach, Ashlyn, Skylar, Kaylin, Meagan, Scarlet, Emily, and Brody; two great-grandchildren, Aidan and Miranda; his father-in-law, Earl C. Murphy Sr. of Hamilton; two brothers, Bill and Randy Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Brenda Bowling.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Harold Hale of Four Square Pentecostal Church officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
