Donald Lodder, age 81 of Hamilton passed away in Fort Hamilton Hospital on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at 9:45 PM. He was born in Hamilton on January 24, 1929 the son of Elmer and Hilda (Schwing) Lodder. Don was a veteran of the Korean Conflict with the United States Army from 1952-1954, a 1947 graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School, a member of the K of C #968, and a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He was the owner and operator with his wife of Lodder’s Flowers for 24 years, retiring in 1986. On September 12, 1953 in Hamilton he was married to Carol Geiser.
He is survived by his wife Carol Lodder of Hamilton; two sons, Dennis and David Lodder of Hamilton; one daughter, Barbara (Ray) Virost of Georgetown, Ohio; one brother, Sonny (Bert) Lodder of Hamilton; two sisters, Elaine (Gene) McKenna of Clearwater, Florida, and Joan (Larry) Bullach of Hamilton; and four grandchildren, Ben, Carl, Maria, and Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Queen of Peace Catholic Church on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Father Jeff Bacon, Celebrant. Burial will be in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, December 3, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
