Donald Leroy Moss, age 73 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Tuesday, December 23, 2008. He was born in Hamilton on August 7, 1935 the son of Carl and Grace (Sutton) Moss. On June 26, 2004 he married Barbara A. Burns. Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1958 to 1964. He was employed as a core cutter/rewinder operator at Champion International Paper. Donald was a member of Eagles #3986, Amvets Post #1983, Moose Lodge #36, and Westwood Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara; a son, Donald A. Moss of Hamilton; six grandchildren, Donald A. Moss Jr., Kenneth Carl Moss, Anthony, Katie, and Barbara Hoebbel; and Ronnie Sandlin; one great-granddaughter Kaley Sandlin; a brother, David (Mary) Moss of Fairfield; a son-in-law, Gary Hoebbel; special friends Dan and Pamela Clontz, and Scott Isaacs, all of Hamilton; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Barbara J. Moss; and two daughters, Leanne Hoebbel and Pam Moss.
Funeral service will be held at the Westwood Presbyterian Church, 1068 Stahlheber Road, on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Joshua Long officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berkeley Square or to Westwood Presbyterian Church. Donald’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Berkeley Square for their loving care and support.
