Donald W. "Digger" Pater

Donald W. "Digger" Pater, age 82 of Hamilton passed away at Mercy Franciscan at Schroder on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 9:50 PM. He was born in Hamilton on October 21, 1929 the son of Edward and Marie (Stempfley) Pater. Don was a 1950 graduate of Hamilton Catholic and a graduate of Gruen Watch Making Institute. He was the owner and operator of Pater Watch Repair for numerous years and was a member of K of C #968 and Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Don was a loving brother and uncle who will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and customers.

He is survived by two brothers, Jerry (Martha) Pater of Hamilton and Joe (Janet) Pater of Oxford; two sisters, Phyllis (Jack) Terry and Patricia Pater, both of Hamilton; nieces and nephews Lisa (Steve) Cochran, Steve (Shauna) Pater, Karen (Randy) Asher, Kelli Pater, Linda (Ben) Raines, Jack (Sue) Terry, Mike (Robin) Terry, Greg Cornett, and Cheryl (Steve) Roeder; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 2550 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, September 11, 2102 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Jim Wedig Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Franciscan at Schroder Benevolent Fund, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, or Hospice of Cincinnati. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff on the 4th floor of Mercy Franciscan at Schroder for all their care and support.
