Donald Smith

Donald Gene Smith, age 87 of Hamilton, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 23, 2015. He was born in Hamilton on August 2, 1927 to Carl and Ida (Evans) Smith. On July 2, 1949 he married Glenna Couch. Donald attended Miami University, Oxford, and earned his degree in Marketing. He was employed by Bendix Aviation for 10 years as a salesman and Powell Valve Co. for 28 years as a Sales Manager. He also taught math for the Fairfield City School District for five years. Donald was a member of Springdale Nazarene Church for 39 years.Donald was a member of the Bendix Boat Club of Hamilton.

He is survived by his wife Glenna Smith and daughter Pamela Plessinger; grandchildren Kelly Plessinger and Matthew Plessinger; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Russell, Alvin, Jeanette Barrett, and Ralph.

Funeral Service will be held at Springdale Nazarene Church, 11177 Springfield Pike, Springdale, Ohio, on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 11 AM with Pastor Marshall Duke officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 27, 2015 from 5-7 PM at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to Springdale Nazarene Church or World Vision.
