Donald J. Stanifer

Donald J. Stanifer, age 81 of Hamilton passed away at Mercy Hospital Fairfield on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 12:03 PM. He was born in Hamilton on October 29, 1927 the son of Earl and Bessie Stanifer. Donald was employed as a paper finisher at Champion Paper Company for 45 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Pentecostal Highway of Holiness Church. On May 2, 1971 in Somerville, he married Sharon Hargis.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Stanifer of Hamilton; six children, Donald W. (Letha) Stanifer of Middletown, Linda Joyce (James) Wheeler of Hamilton, Joe Stanifer of Florida, Regina Stanifer of Hamilton, Donna (Larry) Gabbard of Wisconsin, and Paul W. Hargis of Missouri; a sister, Irene Rhodes; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three children, Connie Huffman, David Stanifer, and Hazel Anne Stanifer.

Funeral service will be held at the Pentecostal Highway of Holiness, 3470 Hamilton-Middletown Road, on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Jerry Pascarella officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
