Dora Coda, age 83 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 2:15 PM. She was born in McKee, Kentucky on November 22, 1924 the daughter of Sam and Arkie (Spivey) Potter. Dora was employed as a nursing assistant for Powell’s Nursing Home for 21 years, retiring in1982. She was a member of the Fellowship Christian Center.
She is survived by one son, Ed (Dana) Clemmons of Ocala, Florida; daughter, Delores (Joe) Sandlin of Hamilton; sister, Lucille Smith of Hamilton; seven grandchildren, David, Gina, Michelle, Steve, Mike, Jon, and Ben; and three great-grandchildren, Carley, Justin, and David. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Coda in 1977; son Gary Clemmons in 2002; brother, Ermon Potter; and sisters, Cora Peters, Charlotte Pennington, Flora Madden, Grace Vickers, Bertha McKinney, and Edna Combs.
Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Paul Marcum and Rev. Clarence Sizemore officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
