Doris Corrine Barkley

Doris Corrine Barkley, age 78 of Hamilton, passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Monday, July 10, 2017. She was born in Falmouth, Kentucky on March 12, 1939 the daughter of Bartley and Pearl (Hopkins) Lawson. Doris was a member of the Tri County Church of the Nazarene, where she served as the Treasure for numerous years. On July, 23, 1954 in New Miami she married Jack S. Barkley. Doris enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, and crafts.

Doris is survived by her husband, Jack S. Barkley; three daughters, Melinda Barkley, Cindy (John) Rust, Jackie (David) Grafner; five siblings, Margie (Tom) Goebel, Kay Barkley, Ruby Freeman, Shirley Jackson, and Leon Lawson; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Charlie) Garnett, Desiree (Christopher) Lusk, Elizabeth (Tim) McGuire, Denessa (Roger) Tackett, Kimberly Rust, and Jacob (Amanda) Lakes; three step grandchildren, Shona (Joel) Miller, Jason (Gina) Rust, and Hollie Mejia Rust; sixteen great grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Doris was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Carl Lawson and Juanita Jackson.

Funeral service will be held at Tri County Church of the Nazarene, 4778 Tylersville Rd, on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Dan Walters officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the church. Condolences can be made at www.browndawsonflick.com
