Doris Ann Evans

Doris Ann Evans, age 79 of Fairfield passed away at University of Cincinnati Hospital on Sunday, July 12 2009 at 1:55 PM. She was born in Blacky, Kentucky on May 7, 1930 the daughter of James and Ida Cleo (Whitehead) Highfield. Doris was employed as a packer at General Electric for 25 years, retiring in 1992. She attended the Princeton Pike Church of God. On Oct 5, 1960 in Hamilton she married William R. Evans who preceded her in death on April 13, 2009.

She is survived by two children, Linda Bailey of Fairfield Township and William R. Evans II of Indiana; three sisters, June Kirby of Lexington, Kentucky, Majil (Junior) Maggard of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, and Barbara (Olan) Smith of Shelby Township, Michigan; one granddaughter, Maranda (Joe) Cooper; and four great-grandchildren, Jayden, Kaylene, Brenna, and Ava Ray Lin on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Bailey; two brothers, Marshall "Buddy" Highfield and Billie Highfield; and one sister, Mildred Fields.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, July 17, 2009 at 12:30 PM with Pastor Rick Witt of Faith Pentecostal Church of Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the funeral home.
