Doris Jean Jones

Doris Jean Jones, age 84 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Doris was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 17, 1939 to the late Earl and Ina Mae (Day) Taggart. Doris graduated from Talawanda High School and retired from Miami University. Doris enjoyed baking, cooking, and tending to her garden. Together with her children and later, her grandchildren, she enjoyed breaking beans and canning. Doris also enjoyed crafting, from crocheting to sewing, but above all, she loved being a mother and grandmother. Doris is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Walter Jones; her children, Sandy (Jim) Stewart, Peggy (Greg Cummings) Winkler, Dennis Jones, Keith (Becky) Jones, and John (Tricia) Jones; her grandchildren, Jessica (Todd) Purkiser, Mike (Tonya) Rogers, Matt (Cara) Rogers, Marcie (Christian Scruggs) Rogers, Amber Jones, Steve Jones, Tim Jones, Jacob (Sarah) Jones, Maggie (Jared) Moore, Hannah Jones, and Alyssa Jones; her great-grandchildren, Abigail, Jenna, Everett, Gabe, Charlie, Ben, Issac, Owen, Hadley, Lincoln, Tucker, Jackson, Felicity, Sophia, and Audrey; her siblings, Wanda Huffman, Wayne Taggart, Mike Taggart, and Ken Taggart; her sister-in-law, Joan Gibson; as well as many nieces, nephew, extended family members and friends. Doris was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Taggart; her daughter-in-law, Rae Jean Jones and her son-in-law, Mike Rogers. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of her Memorial Service at 12:00 NOON at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio.
