Doris G. Pace

October 16, 1937 — December 15, 2007

Doris G. Pace, Age 70, of Fairfield Township passed away at her daughter’s residence to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 11:58 a.m. She was born in Whitley County, Kentucky on October 16, 1937, the daughter of Carl and Cora (Rose) Littrell. She attended Woodbine School in Whitley County, Kentucky. She worked many years as a caregiver at Fort Hamilton Hospital and Butler County Care Facility. She retired in 1999 from Butler County Care Facility. She was a member of the First Church of God. On November 20, 1954, in Jellico, Tennessee, she married Carl William Pace. She loved reading, gardening, country music and collecting hummingbirds and snowmen. Everyone loved her banana pudding and green beans that she canned every year. The banana pudding and green beans were at the top of the request list for family gatherings and parties. She was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother, "Nannie".

She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Schmidt and her husband Paul of Fairfield Township and Deanna Gilreath and her husband Dan of Hamilton; one son, Dale Pace of Fairfield Township; one brother Leland Littrell of Hamilton; ten grandchildren, Joy, Jennifer, Jeremy, D.J., Chad, Ryan, Robert, Sally, Megan and Molly; four great-grandchildren, Logan, Myranda, Devyn and Alexis; a dedicated loving friend and companion, Ernie Ellis; and nieces, nephews and her dog Minnie Mouse. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one brother, Wilburn Littrell.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Milliville Avenue on Friday, December 21, 2007 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Dr. Keith Gebhart, Pastor of the First Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00PM until 8:00PM. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Evan Lang, Pastor Keith Gebhart and the First Church of God family, Hospice of Cincinnati especially Sue Snodgrass and Joyce Albers for all their care, support and compassion. If so desired, memorials may be made to the First Church of God Building Fund or Hospice of Cincinnati.
