Doris J. (Jennings) Short-Hyatt

of Springfield, OH formerly of Fairfield, OH went to her heavenly home to be with Jesus and loved ones on August 1, 2018. Doris was born in Mount Vernon, KY on August 12, 1940. Daughter to the late Hubert and Sally (McGuire) Jennings. Doris graduated from Union High School, West Chester, OH. Doris worked at Herring Hall, General Electric, Champion Local 1967, and retiring from Catholic Social Services. She attended Hamilton Church of God and enjoyed volunteering in the church office. She also attended First Christian Church in Springfield.

Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many. Doris is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Paul L. Hyatt, of Springfield, OH; her loving children, Michele (nee Anglin) Jim Johnson, Amy (nee Anglin) Brent Lovelace, Robert (Kathy), Fred (Amanda), Paul A. (Trish) Hyatt; her grandchildren, Jimmy (Jordan), Jennifer Johnson, Jordan, Adriana and Elijah Lovelace, Michael Malott, Jacob Hyatt, Jordan Poindexter and Alex McKinney, Tyler and Cassie Hyatt, and Derek Hyatt; her great-grandchildren, Julia and Jamie Johnson; her brother Willie (Marlene) Jennings; her sisters, Mary (Ron) Kerns and Kim (Michael) Fields; her brother-in-law, Morris (Barb) Penn; her nieces, Miranda, Brittany, and Deborah; her nephew, Michael; her sister-in-law, Betty Jo; her uncles, aunts, cousins, and many friends. Doris had a heart of gold. She was always concerned about the needs of others. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Short; her sister, Phyllis Penn; her grandparents, aunts, uncles, a great-nephew, and special aunts Sissy and Edith.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 10:00AM with Pastor Alan Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 5:00PM to 7:30PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home. Concluding the visitation at 7:30PM, there will be an Amaranth and Eastern Star Services following. She will be greatly missed.
