Dorlynn Harkins

Dorlynn Harkins, age 75 of Fairfield passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 11:20 AM. She was born in Hamilton on November 27, 1933 the daughter of Fred and Gladiola (Adams) Rowland. Dorlynn attended Seven Mile Schools. She was employed at Mercy Hospital and was a lifetime member of New Miami First Church of God. In 1950 in Hamilton, she married Alonzo "Lonnie" Garland, and he preceded her in death in 1992; in 1998 in Hamilton, she was married to Hugh R. Harkins, and he preceded her in death in 2006.

She is survived by two sons, Roger (Brenda) Garland of Fairfield and Neil (Jill) Garland of Liberty Township; a son-in-law, Tim Wade of Parkersburg, West Virginia; five grandchildren, Michael (Heather) Garland, Angela (Troy) Jennings, Ashley Wade, Timmy Wade, and Anna (Dustin) Carman; four great-grandchildren, Tori Joyce, T.J, Angel, and Joseph Jennings; her lifelong best friend, Wanda Whitt of Seven Mile; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Doronna Wade; a brother, Donald Lutes; and a sister, Bessie Barger.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Pastor David Farthing of New Miami First Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
