Dorothy Willits Settevendemie

September 15, 1918 — November 12, 2008

Dorothy Willits Settevendemie, age 90, formerly of Lyndhurst, Ohio. Beloved wife of Emilio ("Mel") for 59 years. Exceptional mother of John, Anne (Randy )Ritz , Sue (Eric) Wirtz. Grandmother of Lindy and Peter; Shannon, Michael, Philip and Mariah; Erika and John.

Dorothy served for four years as an Army Nurse in WWII, caring for our troops fighting in Africa and Italy. She was active in the Lyndhurst Presbyterian Church, serving in the chancel and bell choirs for 40+ years. An unusually kind, compassionate and upbeat person, "Dort" was known for her selfless nature, and for her love of helping others--from family to friends to complete strangers. Always welcoming friends with open arms, loads of good food, music, and happiness, she and Mel created a wonderful home and family. Dorothy will be remembered and missed by so many people whose lives she touched.

Her family will honor her at a service at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave. Hamilton, OH, on Sunday, November 16 at 1:30 p.m. with visitation starting at 12:30. Memorials may be made to Vitas (Hospice Care), 11500 Northlake Dr. Cincinnati, Ohio, 45249.
