Doug B, Rose, Sr.

Doug B. Rose, Sr., age 85 of Hamilton, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 22, 2024. Doug was born in Jackson County, Kentucky on November 27, 1938 to the late Edward and Beulah (Wilson) Rose. As a young man, Doug moved with his family to the Hamilton area and he took up being a mechanic. As he was learning to turn a wrench, Doug still made time to go back to Kentucky to visit with his grandma and the rest of the family there. As time went by, Doug moved up from the garage to the cab, learning to drive a truck and earning his commercial driver’s license at 18. That same year, he married the love of his life, Kitty, and together they raised a family in Hamilton.

Doug was a lifetime professional driver, having logged over 5 million miles without an accident (we’re not too sure about the actual milage). He had a work ethic as strong and reliable as the diesel engines he worked on and drove. He was a man’s man and the kind of husband and dad that could do anything – and do it right the first time. The strong morals and wisdom that he instilled in his sons will continue to live on along with the love that he shared for his whole family.

Doug will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 65 years, Kitty Rose; his three sons, Terry Douglas (Vicki) Rose, Jerry Ray Rose, and Douglas Berkley (Christi) Rose; his grandchildren, Lindsey, Justin, Zachary, Christopher, Samuel, Mellyn, Ethan, and Benjamin; his great-grandchildren, Gracie, Marie, Paisley, Evelyn, Ilse, and Milo; and his canine companion, Brittany; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Doug is reunited in Heaven with his granddaughter, Graceann, as well as his parents, his grandma and his beloved dog, Angel.

Graveside Services will be held at Fairview Cemetery, 643 S.R. 503 South, West Alexandria, Ohio, on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
