Douglas G. Wilson

NCCS Douglas G. Wilson, U.S.N. (Ret.), 69, of Hamilton, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023. He was born March 13, 1953 in Hamilton, son of the late Austin and Lucille (Delaney) Wilson. Known to most as Doug, he joined the Navy. While enlisted, he returned home and met Shonie Wolf, whom he married in 1975. He continued his career as a sailor and traveled the world, retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer in 1991. He continued serving his country and became a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring again in 2015. Doug will be remembered for his sarcasm, brilliant humor, and love for his family, especially his grandchildren.

Doug will be dearly missed by his wife, Shonie Wilson; his sons, Shannon (Stephanie) Wilson, Michael (Stephany) Wilson and Douglas (Alisha) Wilson, II; his grandchildren, Kaleb (Tiffany) Wilson, Christian Prewitt, Jaiden Wilson, Macy Wilson, Ethan Wilson, Alexander Wilson, Maxwell Wilson, and Braxton Wilson; his great-granddaughter, Ella Prewitt; his brother, Larry Wilson; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the time of his Funeral Service at 12:00 NOON at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, OH 45011, with Pastor Tim Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
