E. Carl Meadors

Earnest Carl Meadors, age 82 of Hamilton passed away at Woodlands of Hamilton on Monday, September 5, 2011 at 8:17 AM. He was born in Corbin, Kentucky on May 25, 1929 the son of William Bluford and Lora Belle (Taylor) Meadors. Carl was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957 and was employed in the shipping department of Fisher Body for more than 40 years. He was a very active member of Rivers of Life Church of God, where he served for over 40 years as the church clerk. On October 24, 1953 in Hamilton he married Loretta V. Wells, and she preceded him in death in 2009.

He is survived by four children, Lisa (Michael) Ward of Cleveland, Tennessee, Lynette DeVine of Middletown, Travis (Kim) Meadors of Hamilton, and Tracy (Michael) Steelman of Fairfield; thirteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Connie, Bill and Jack Meadors; and two sisters, Geneva and Wilma Meadors.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Wilma Jackson of Rivers of Life Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
