Earl Plowman

Earl Plowman, age 87 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 2:58 PM. He was born in Irvine, Kentucky on September 9, 1923 the son of William and Serilda (Morris) Plowman. Earl was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943 to 1946. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Ohio Operating Engineers. On September 17, 1949 in Newport, Kentucky he married Dorothy Spencer.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Plowman of Hamilton; three sons, Larry (Bernice) Plowman of Trenton, Rick (Karen) Plowman of Liberty Township, and David Plowman of Fairfield; two brothers, Fred (Grace) Plowman of Hamilton and Raymond Plowman of Jamestown, Ohio; two sisters, Marie Roberts of Irvine, Kentucky and Opal Bowlin of Clearwater, Florida; six grandchildren, Eric (Jessica) Plowman of Alabaster, Alabama, Dustin Plowman, Nicholas Plowman, both of Blue Ash, Nathaniel Plowman, David Plowman, and Charles Plowman, all of Fairfield; and two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Sophie. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Michael Plowman; two brothers, Ernest and Shirley Plowman; two sisters, Flossie Harris and Virginia Cox; and three half-sisters, Joyce Lamb, Viola Sparks, and Edna Estes.

Funeral service will be held at the Bible-Way Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 12:00 noon with Bro. Earl Rosenbalm, Associate Pastor, and Bro. Nathaniel Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bible-Way Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45013
