Earl Turner, age 94, of Hamilton, died Friday, January 1, 2010 at Hospice of Hamilton. Earl was born in Irvin, Kentucky on July 25, 1915 to William and Indus (Becknell) Turner. On October 25, 1932 in Kentucky he married Iona Miller who preceded him in death on March 12, 2008 after being married 75 years. Earl was owner and operator of his own cement contracting business. He was an avid coon hunter and was a member of the Butler County Coon Hunters Association, winning multi awards.
He will miss and be missed by all who knew him, especially by his friends at the office (Becky’s Donuts). He is survived by one son, David (Jean) Turner; five grandchildren, Linda (Mike) Sapp, Paula Elfrink, Kenny (Pam) Turner, Dennis (Ada) Turner, Lora (Greg) Gentry; 13 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Lucille Turner, Rethie Turner, and Marie (Stanton) Clark. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Marie Richardson; a grandson, Doug Richardson; a great-grandson Austin Turner; three brothers, Charlie Turner, Ewey Turner, and Dallis Turner; and three sisters, Jeanette Bebe, Mamie Durm, and Mae Turner.
Funeral services will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., on Tuesday, January 5th at 12 noon with Rev. Randy Sapp of Tuley Road Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12 noon. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati. Earl’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of Hospice of Hamilton and to dear friend Sally Estridge for their care and concern.
