Edgar B. Bowling

Edgar B. Bowling, age 84 of Trenton passed away at VA Hospital, Dayton, on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 9:55 PM. He was born in Brodhead, Kentucky on January 3, 1924 the son of Benjamin Franklin and Elizabeth Anne (West) Bowling. Edgar was a veteran of World War II with the United States Navy from 1943-1945. He was employed as a millwright at Celotex Corporation for 41 years, retiring in 1987. Edgar was a member of Pater Avenue Pentecostal Church of God and the American Legion #218 in Middletown. In 1942 in Beattyville, Kentucky he married Ruby Mae Brock, and she preceded him in death in 1988.

He is survived by two sons, David Benton (Connie) Bowling of Hamilton and Danny Eugene (Kimberly) Bowling of Seven Mile; five daughters, Betty Carolyn Terrill of Sebring, Florida, Phyllis Ann (James) Rau of St. Charles, Missouri, Barbara (Robert) Musch of Hamilton, Shirley (Charles) Garrison of Sevierville, Tennessee, and Mary Louise (Ronald) Brooks of Hamilton; twenty grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and fourteen siblings.

Funeral service will be held at the Pater Avenue Pentecostal Church of God, 1321 Pater Avenue, on Friday, January 11, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Willard Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to N.C. Cemetery Trust Fund, 5362 Augspurger Road, Hamilton 45011.
