Edgar J. Isaacs

Edgar J. Isaacs, age 77 of Hamilton passed away at Tri-County Extended Care Center on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 1:11 PM. He was born in Madison County, Kentucky on September 10, 1932 the son of Effert and Grace (Cox) Isaacs. Edgar was a veteran of the Korean Conflict with the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. He was employed as a welder at Martin Marietta for 40 years, retiring in 1997. Edgar was a member of Pater Avenue Free Pentecostal Church of God. On June 5, 1961 he married Wanda S. Poynter who preceded him in death in 2008.

He is survived by four children, Lorenda (Dennis) Allen of Hamilton, Martina (Paul) Lunsford of Fairfield Township, Sheila (Bob) Shiflet of Oxford, and Duane Isaacs of Cincinnati; one sister, Helen (Vince) Robertson of Berea, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Liza Jane Webb.

Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Paul Marcum of Fellowship Christian Center officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
