Edith Bishop, age 86, of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Thursday, November 4, 2010. She was born in Clay County, Kentucky on March 4, 1924 the daughter of Charles Lewis and Hattie (Knuckles) Wilder. Edith was retired from Avon and worked as a hairdresser prior to her employment there. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. On January 3, 1941 in Clay County, Kentucky she married Clay Mason Bishop who passed away October 4, 2004.

She is survived by her two daughters, Fieona (Darrel) Maggard and Leona (Herman) Baker; a son, Glenn Kenneth Bishop; 6 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Edith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Clay Bishop Jr. and Abel Cartis Bishop; two brothers, Fred Wilder and Elbert Wilder; and a sister, Edna Burke.

Funeral services will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati. Edith’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staffs of Hospice of Hamilton, Adult Day Care Services, and Council on Aging.
