Edward "Skip" King

June 8, 1938 — January 29, 2011

Edward "Skip" King, age 72 of Hamilton had his Heavenly homecoming on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. He was born in Hamilton on June 8, 1938 to Edward and Frances (Garvin) King. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Fort Mandan LSD-21 from 1956 -1959. On December 26, 1956 Skip married Theresa Brown. They were married 39 years when she passed away on March 31, 1996. He was a faithful member of Bible-Way Missionary Baptist Church for 27 years.

He leaves behind two sons, Chris (Michelene) King of Fairfield and Tony (Amanda) King of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; a daughter, Janet (Mike) Fox of Hamilton; and one who he loved like a son, Mike (Dena) Ball of Hamilton; ten precious grandchildren, Christopher, Brittany, Nikki, Kayla, Kaitlin, Jason, Karly, Jenna, Kelsey, and Logan, all of whom were a joy to him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; twin sisters June and Jane and sister Elaine.

Funeral services will be held at Bible-Way Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Millville Avenue, on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Bro. Mike Ball officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bible-Way Missionary Baptist Church.
