Edward T. Lagedrost

Edward T. Lagedrost, age 79 of Hamilton passed away in his residence on Sunday, July 1, 2007 at 5:15 PM. He was born in Hamilton on October 23, 1927 the son of Theodore and Rosa (Weber) Lagedrost. "Big Ed," as he was known to his fellow workers, was employed as a chemist in the metallurgic department of Armco Steel for forty-two years, retiring in 1990. He was a 1945 graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School and attended Notre Dame University for two years, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. On September 30, 1950 in Hamilton he was married to Mary Krogman.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lagedrost of Hamilton; one son, Ted (Karen) Lagedrost of Fairfield; and one granddaughter, Jennifer (Robert Shane) Shackelford with whom he shared very special times. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, especially Roseann (Tim) McGuire, Paul (Donna) Wright, Mark Wright, Linda (Bobby) Baker, Joyce (Tom) Dane, and John Wright, all of Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Rose Wright; a sister-in-law, Anna May Krogmann; four brothers-in-law, Urban, Bernard, Louis Krogmann, and Floyd Wright; and a dear aunt, Florence Lagedrost.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Dennis Dettenwanger, Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. James Simcoe for his care over the years, and the caring provided by nurse Robyn of Hospice of Cincinnati.
