Effie Mae Lefevers “Frog”, age 80 of Hamilton, passed away at Westover Retirement Community on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Effie was born in Manchester, Kentucky on January 21, 1946 to Tite Whicker and Grace (nee Stellings) Whicker Popp. Effie waitressed her whole career. She loved, first and foremost, Jesus Christ, her church, crocheting, cooking, baking, her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandbabies and her brothers and sisters.
Effie is survived by her daughters, Katherine L. (Ronald) Burton, Michelle R. (James Dean) Wyrick, Melinda Jo (Kenneth) Gabbard and Shawna Kay (Michael) Baker; her grandchildren, Brittney, Crystal, LaRonda, Elizabeth, Destiney, Brandi, Jimmy, Dustin, Justin, Kenny Boo, Tyler, Dylan, Dylan B., Seth, Zachary, Carson and Mikayla; her great-grandchildren, Malia, Wyatt, Payton, Aiden, Laykin, Zaylon, Axel, Presley, Paisley Jene, Kyle, Adalynn, Gracie, Bryton, Lily, Riley James, Hallie Jo, Baylor, Chandler, Harrison, Brooks, Miles, Max, Ezekiel, Asher, Adley, Grayson, Oakley, and Zayne; her great great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Kurtis; her siblings, Brenda, Teresa, Lisa, Vincent and Tite; her best friend, Kathy Lamb; and numerous nieces and nephews. Effie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, Lavon Curtis Lefevers; her daughter, Dawna Ray; her sisters, Billie, Dago, Martha, Connie, and Ralph; and brothers, Richard, Rocky, Charlie, Johnny.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev. Elby Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
