Eleanora "Aunt Sis" Beahn O.P.

Eleanora "Aunt Sis" Beahn O.P., age 91 of Hamilton passed away in Mercy Franciscan at Schroder on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at 12:55 AM. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 7, 1917 the daughter of Vincent and Anna (McFadden) Beahn. Eleanora was a 1958 graduate of St. Joseph University in Philadelphia and earned her Master’s Degree in Education in 1974 from Xavier University. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and a member of the choir of the parish, a member of the Third Order of St. Dominic for over 75 years. She was employed as an elementary teacher for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati for 22 years, retiring in 1981.

She is survived by five nieces, Ann (Marion) Bishea, Mary (Chuck) Schwing, Kate (Ed) Snyder, Patty (Tom) Dreyer and Eileen (Jim) Cary, and one nephew, John (Chris) Beahn; and also 16 great-nieces and nephews and 14 great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, John (Dorothy) Beahn, Francis (Helen) Beahn, and Thomas Beahn.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Queen of Peace Catholic Church on Friday, April 24. 2009 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Jeff Bacon, Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Vincent dePaul Society.
