Ellen Abrams, age 87 of Hamilton, passed away at Berkeley Square on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. Ellen was born in Jackson County, Kentucky on February 2, 1929 to Richard and Letha (Jones) Lakes. On September 24, 1948 in Richmond, Indiana she married Luther Abrams. Ellen retired from Ft. Hamilton Hospital as a nurse aide in 1980 after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Zion United Baptist Church, and attended Greenhills United Baptist Church for the last several years.
Ellen is survived by her children, Terry (Angie) Abrams, Brenda Kay Abrams, and Lisa Abrams; five grandchildren, Travis (Kim) Abrams, Chris (Kathy) Abrams, Deanna (Brandon) Michaud, Craig Bryant and Dexter (Courtney) Bryant; fifteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Burchell Lakes; sisters, Ruth Hall and Fairlene Allen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Abrams; a daughter, Sandra Abrams; brothers, Wendell, Ernest, Lester, Virgil Lakes; and sisters, Burnell Lakes, Shirley Thompson, and Joyce Wade.
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 11:00am with Pastor Tim Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 10:00am to 11:00am at the funeral home.
