Elma Truster, age 91 of Seven Mile area, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013. She was born in Hamilton on March 22, 1922, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Herndan) Heet. She was an advisor for the 4H Electric Club and 4H Sewing Club. She was the secretary for the U Go I Go Club in Reily, Ohio. Elma worked at the election polls for 50 years. She was active in the Butler Rural Electric, developing the Community Connection, Woman’s Action Standing Committee and the Butler Rural Co-op teams group. She was an avid card sender. Elma’s hobbies included embroidering quilts and scarfs and tending to her roses. She was the Superintendent of the ART Hall at the Butler County Fair for 50 years.
She is survived by her children, Dan (Carol) Truster and Patsy (John) Moorhead; grandchildren, Tim Truster, Chris Truster, Jeff Truster, Jennifer Tussey, Sonia Lightfield, Jane Zanekert and John Moorhead, II; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Truster; parents; and 4 siblings.
Visitation will be 10am until time of service (12noon), Friday, June 28, 2013, at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, with Rev. Mike Gabbard officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Donations may be sent to Hospice of Cincinnati, Wayne Township Fire Department or a charity of your choice.
