Elmer J. Bendix

Elmer J. Bendix, age 95 of Hamilton, passed away at Bradford Place on Wednesday, June 18, 2014. He was born in Hamilton on May 14, 1919 to Joseph and Marie (Harmling) Bendix. Elmer served proudly in the U.S. Navy as a Lt. Commander during WWII.

He is survived by his daughters, Stanla Weissinger and Sheila (Chris) Miller; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 step-sons, Andrew (Cindy) Miller and Barry Miller; 2 step-daughters, Saundra (Gary) Hunley and Janet (Bob) Pearson; 14 step-grandchildren; and 82 step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Vincent Bendix; his spouses, Dorothy (Link) Bendix, who preceded him in death in 1984, and Dorothy (Miller) Bendix, who preceded him in death in 2009; and his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Bradford Place Chapel, 1302 Millville Avenue, on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014 from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the Bradford Place Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
