Elsie Mae Vaughn, age 87 of Hamilton, passed away at Wellington Manor on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 03:30PM. She was born in Harlan, KY on February 8, 1928 to Clyde and Lola (Eversole) Freeman. Elsie was an avid reader and loved to write poetry.
She is survived by her children; William R. (the late Ann) Vaughn, Chris (the late Dale) Vaughn, Nina Vaughn-Lewis, and Tonya Vaughn, 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; Elmer Vaughn, her children; Kenny Short, Infant Short, Johnny Vaughn, Teresa Jones, James Vaughn, and Robert Vaughn, her grandson, Charles Jones.
Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 12PM. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 11AM-12PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Vitas Hospice. Condolences can be made at www.browndawsonflick.com.
