Emil "Joe" Newman

Emil "Joe" Newman, age 60 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Monday, April 4, 2011. He was born in Harlan, Kentucky on January 25, 1951 the son of Mearl and Grace Mary (Zahradnik) Newman. Joe was employed in the security department at Ft. Hamilton Hospital, and had formerly been employed at Mosler Safe Company and he was a special deputy for the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. He was a member of VFW Post #1069.

He is survived by his children, Emil Joe (Tina) Newman Jr., Angie Newman (Gary) Back, and Jason (Ginger) Newman; grandchildren Matthew, Jenna, Graciana, Brian, Breonna, and Brody; a sister, Carole (Gary) Delaney; nieces Kim (Rick) Clemmons and Jennifer (Brent) McCoy; nephews Brian (Kelly) Phillips and Dale Phillips; former wives Patsy (mother of his children) and Judy; and many close friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
