Ernest Roy Mcguffey

Ernest Roy McGuffey, age 66, of Hamilton, passed away at University Hospital, Cincinnati on Monday July 5, 2010 at 4:35 PM. He was born in Crab Orchard, Tennessee on January 27, 1944 the son of Charles and Lessie (Chitwood) McGuffey. Ernest retired from maintenance at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. On October 24, 1964 in Sterns, Kentucky he married Jessie Davenport.

He is survived by his wife, Jessie McGuffey of Hamilton; two sons, Jeff (Lela) McGuffey and Craig McGuffey both of Hamilton; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy McGuffey of Indiana and Harold McGuffey of Bowling Green, Kentucky; two sisters, Jennie Sipe and Phyllis Waters both of Indiana; two half brothers, Danny Boone of Pine Knott, Kentucky and Steve Boone of Indiana; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Donald and Tommy McGuffey.

Funeral services will be held Saturday July 10, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., with Rev. Richard Thompson and Rev. Jimmy McGuffey officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
