Ernest "Ernie" Anthony Sauerland

Ernest Anthony Sauerland, age 76 of Oxford, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, August 24, 2026. Ernest was born in Hamilton, Ohio on May 4, 1950 to Carl Anthony and Beulah Elizabeth (nee McNally) Sauerland. He was a plumber for over 50 years. He was a member of Blue River Longrifles. He enjoyed primitive camping whenever he could. He participated in reenactments at Gettysburg and Friendship. He was known as "Quiet Man". He will be deeply missed by his forever companion, Tess. 

Ernest is survived by his wife, Margaret Sauerland; his son, Anthony (Dawn) Sauerland; his granddaughter, Emma (Alex Little) Sauerland; his sisters, Carol (Richard) Bowles, Beverly (Clarence) Blevins, and Patty (Ed) Strecker; his brother in law; Michael (Charlotte) Scarth; his sister in law, Becky (Al) Oestreich. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Reily Presbyterian Church 6370 Peoria-Reily Road, Oxford, Ohio. Funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Tom Ramsey officiating. There will be a meal following services at Reily Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions can be made to Reily Fire Department and EMT's at 6520 Stillwell Beckett Road, Oxford, Ohio. As well as the Hospice of Hamilton at 1010 Eaton Ave, Hamilton, Ohio.
