Ethel Bittinger

Ethel Bittinger, age 89 of Somerset, Kentucky, formerly of Hamilton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 4, 2008 at her home. She was born in Berry, Kentucky on March 11, 1918 the daughter of Ernest and Adeline (Tucker) Roberts. Ethel was a homemaker and former employee of Beckett Paper Company. She enjoyed crocheting and volunteering at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. On December 11, 1961 in Eaton, Ohio she married Ralph F. Bittinger, who passed away on October 1, 1978. She is survived by a son, Tommy (Sue) Roe of Somerset; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Ralph Bittinger and Oris Roe; three sons, Jack Roe, Jerry Roe, and Dan Roe; and a sister, Eva Belle Eastman. Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, February 8, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jacob Flannery officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to any local hospice.
