Ethel Fern Rohr

Ethel Fern Rohr, age 94 of Hamilton, departed this life for her Heavenly home on Friday, November 14, 2025. Known to most as Fern, she was born in Campton, Kentucky on September 9, 1931 to the late William and Clemma (Peyton) Long. Fern grew up in Campton, Kentucky and attended Sunlight Baptist Church. Later, she moved to Fairborn, Ohio and raised her four sons. As her boys grew up, she later joined them in Hamilton, a town that she called home for nearly 35 years. In that time, she was an active and devoted member of Cherry Valley Baptist Church. Fern was a master storyteller, recounting stories that would entertain and, more importantly educate – behind the laughter and smile was a kernel of wisdom that she was always glad to share. Fern never missed a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion and had an impeccable talent for sending a greeting card that always arrived on time. Above all, Fern loved God and her family with all of her heart.

Fern will be dearly missed by her sons, Daniel Rohr and David (Jenny) Rohr; her sister, Rosa Long; her grandchildren, Michael (Sarah) Ross and Kim (Ryan) Law; her 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

Fern is reunited in Heaven with her sons, Glenn Rohr and Stevie Rohr; her siblings, Alfred Long, Anzie Gevedon, Bertie Gevedon, Bonnie Castle, Hiram Long, Huey Long, and Leona Kester; and her grandsons, Jeff and David Jr.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 10:30 AM until the time of her Funeral Service at 12:30 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home – Westside Chapel, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, OH 45013. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.
