Ethel M. Furmon, age 94 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, August 4, 2008 at 10:00 PM. She was born in Livingston, Kentucky on June 22, 1914 the daughter of Rev. H.L. and Sophia (Browning) Ponder. Ethel was a member of the Hamilton West Baptist Church. On November 18, 1931 in Livingston, Kentucky she married Loyd Furmon, and he preceded her in death in 1987.
She is survived by two daughters, Edna Warner, and Donna Furmon, both of Hamilton; two granddaughters, Cindy (Todd) Harper of Columbus, Ohio, and Sharon (Mark) Dully of Hamilton; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jennifer; and Murphy, her loving great-grand-dog. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Berchal Furmon; three sisters, Lula Morris, Martha Waddle, and Daisy Powell; and two brothers, Sherman and William Ponder.
Funeral Service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, August 8, 2008 at 1:00 PM with Rev. David Williams, Pastor of Hamilton West Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 noon to 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to the Hamilton West Baptist Church- Building Fund, 1050 NW Washington Blvd., Hamilton, Ohio 45013 or to Hospice of Hamilton, 1010 Eaton Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45013.
