Ethel “Punkin” Patricia Potts, age 79 of Fairfield, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, July 10, 2023. Ethel was born in Hamilton, Ohio on March 26, 1944 to the late Clarence Lee Gatliff, Sr. and Viola Hensley Gatliff. Known to most as Punkin or Pat, she was a manager at Book World in Fairfield for many years. As a bookstore manager, she enjoyed reading, but also enjoyed crafting and gardening. Ethel loved shopping and taking care of her pets, but above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed hosting and entertaining for the holidays, but was best known for her luaus and cook-outs.
Ethel will be dearly missed by her siblings, Clarence “Sonny” Gatliff, Jr., James “Buddy” Gatliff, Juanita “Cricket” Burress; her nieces, Denise Lowry and Patti (Neil) Dawson; her nephews, Jimmy Roth, Billy Paragin, Michael Burress, and Andy (Ashley) Potts; her brother-in-law, Mike (Lorraine) Potts; many great-nieces and nephews, including Deja Burress; numerous other relatives, friends, and her feline companions, Fat Cat, Mystic, and Magic.
Ethel is reunited in Heaven with her late husband, Robert “Bob” C. Potts and his parents, Andy & Ruth Potts; as well as her parents.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023 from 10:30 AM until the time of her Funeral Service at 12:00 NOON at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, Ohio with Pastor Barry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Flowers will be accepted and memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati or American Cancer Society .
